Introducing RunGo Workouts: structured training, guided by voice

Your next workout can have more structure and fewer screen checks. Introducing RunGo Workouts, a RunGo Premium feature that guides you through structured running sessions with audio cues, from warmup to cooldown.

Choose an official RunGo workout, try a session designed by a run coach or creator, or build your own. Set your workout, press start, and let RunGo guide you through it.

We’ve worked hard to build this, and we’re proud of what it brings to RunGo. Workouts is a huge leap forward from our previous Intervals feature, with more ways to create, discover, and follow a session that fits your goals.

Keep your attention on the run

A structured workout can look simple on paper: warm up, run a series of harder efforts with recovery between them, and cool down. Remembering the details while running is another matter.

How many repeats have you finished? When does the recovery end? What comes next?

RunGo Workouts brings those instructions into the run with audio guidance. Follow the stages of your session without repeatedly checking your screen or keeping the whole workout in your head.

As you complete each hard effort, RunGo also reads out your distance or time, giving you feedback as you move into the next step.

Whether you’re trying structured training for the first time or working through a familiar session, you can give more attention to your running.

You don’t need to build a workout to get started. We’ve included official RunGo workouts that you can choose and follow, including:

Jack Daniels classic 2x400 3x1000 4x200

Your First Run

A beginner-friendly run/walk workout designed to introduce you to running at an easy effort, build confidence, and create a foundation for running longer over time.

Begin with a 10-minute walking warmup, followed by eight rounds of 1 minute running and 2 minutes walking, then finish with a 5-minute cooldown. RunGo guides the transitions, so you can take it one step at a time.

Try workouts from coaches and creators

We’re also featuring a handful of workouts created and designed by run coaches and other creators for you to use.

These sessions bring different ideas and approaches into your training. They’re an opportunity to try a workout you might not have put together yourself, with RunGo providing the audio guidance as you follow it.

RunGo has long helped people create running experiences for others through audio-guided routes. Workouts extends that idea to structured training, giving more people a way to turn their running knowledge into a guided experience.

Create your own workout

Have a favourite session? Following a training plan? Want to put together something that suits the time you have today?

Build your own workout with:

  • Warmup: Ease into the session.

  • Intervals: Define your running efforts.

  • Pace targets: Set the intended pace for each stage.

  • Recovery: Add easier periods between efforts.

  • Repeat blocks: Organize sequences of efforts and recoveries.

  • Cooldown: Finish with an easier stretch of running.

Your workout can be simple or detailed. You might alternate short efforts with easy recovery, build a longer session around a target pace, or recreate a workout your coach has given you.

Once it’s set up, RunGo guides you through the steps.

Review the whole workout, interval by interval

The guidance doesn’t end with your last effort. When you finish, RunGo prepares a full summary of your workout and each interval.

Review the session as a whole, then look at the individual intervals to see how it unfolded. That gives you something useful to refer back to when reflecting on your run or planning your next session.

Previously using Intervals? Your workout comes with you

Intervals is now Workouts.

If you were using our previous Intervals feature and already had an interval workout set up, it will be migrated into Workouts for you to keep using. You won’t need to rebuild it from scratch.

You can return to that familiar session, then explore the new tools and available workouts when you’re ready.

This was an important part of building Workouts: making room for much more, while bringing your existing setup along.

Included with RunGo Premium

Workouts is a RunGo Premium feature, including the ability to create your own structured sessions and follow the available official and featured workouts.

We’re proud to bring this addition to our Premium community. A lot of work has gone into making structured sessions easier to build, follow, and review, and we’re excited to hear how you use it.

Update RunGo on your iPhone, explore Workouts, and choose a session or create your own.
