RunGo gets featured by Apple, integration of AR into the RunGo app, and watchOS 4 improvements.

Vancouver, British Columbia: At RunGo we pride ourselves to adapt and integrate the latest innovations into our RunGo app and continue to improve the ways our users can enjoy our app. When Apple announced the ARKit for iOS 11, we quickly jumped on the opportunity to integrate Augmented Reality (AR) and mix real-world images with artificial ones in real time. The result: An integrated AR View showing route directions on top of the ‘real world’ around us. Coupled with our proprietary and unique turn-by-turn voice navigation, the RunGo app has truly become one of the most complete running- and walking apps available in the Apple App Store. This is being acknowledged by Apple by placing the RunGo App in the Featured section in the Health & Fitness category.

Dynamic Type
To further support our growing visually impaired user base, and those looking to customize their iOS experience, we integrated ‘Dynamic Type’ to provide additional flexibility by letting users choose their preferred text size.

Map Clustering
With over 80,000+ routes available, finding that unique route at a high zoom level was overwhelming. Thanks to the ‘Map Clustering’ option in iOS 11, we are now able to clusters route markers together, making viewing the map, and finding routes much easier. The number on a cluster indicates how many routes there are available. As you zoom into any of the cluster locations, the number on the cluster decreases, and you begin to see the individual routes on the map. Zooming out of the map consolidates the markers into clusters again.

Water Lock
In watchOS 4 we integrated ‘Water Lock’ to avoid tapping the screen and accidentally pausing or stopping your workout. To unlock and use the controls, users have to turn the Digital Crown. We also integrated the watchOS 4 solution which by pressing the Digital Crown and the Side Button at the same time will allow you to pause/resume your workout, even when the screen is locked.

Localization
To better support RunGo users, we have translated the app into the following languages: English, French, Dutch, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Italian, Chinese and Japanese.
