Experience More with RunGo for Apple Watch Series 2
Vancouver, British Columbia: Introducing RunGo for Apple Watch Series 2. RunGo is the first running app that offers turn-by-turn navigation right on the comfort of your wrist, letting you track your runs and explore new routes with confidence. All with the freedom of leaving your iPhone at home.
"As a runner, I love to explore but also have a terrible sense of direction. RunGo was built to solve that problem and give runners access to routes with turn-by-turn voice navigation curated by local running communities,” said Craig Slagel, Founder of RunGo "I always wanted RunGo on a wearable device but until the Apple Watch Series 2, there was nothing available on the market with the technology we needed. We feel all runners, regardless of ability, should be able to get the most out of RunGo. The unique accessibility features of iPhone and Apple Watch make that possible”.
Developed in Vancouver, RunGo has released the first running app with voice turn-by-turn navigation for Apple Watch. Using built-in GPS, RunGo for Apple Watch Series 2 lets you seamlessly transfer your favourite running routes from your phone to your watch and run independently without your iPhone, while being guided by voice navigation throughout your run. RunGo also offers advanced navigation, mapping and tracking technology for runners who want to safely discover new running routes. More importantly, RunGo gives you more control than any other running app with their innovative Crown Control feature that allows you to Pause, Resume and Stop your run using the Digital Crown on your Apple Watch.
“I was feeling good and the app was directing me flawlessly. My confidence grew and so did my pace. It seems like I was running as if I have no vision issues at all. I was able to run freely as I let the app guide me. It was liberating.” Rose Sarkany, visually impaired runner.
The RunGo app for Apple Watch Series 2 is available for free download from the App Store on iPhone and Apple Watch, or at AppStore.com. For more information, visit RunGoApp.com/watch.
RunGo is a Vancouver-based running app that offers voice guided turn-by-turn for your runs. With a library of over 80,000+ routes worldwide, including running tours, curated by local running communities, RunGo allows you to immerse yourself in cities you are travelling to and allows you to re-discover your own cities. RunGo also provides all the usual statistics such as distance, pace, and calories burned, and provides a logbook to store the results. The app navigates you offline, and only requires data or wifi when you add runs to your library. After that, you can use RunGo to guide you, without any data or wifi.
RunGo was inspired by Dynasty, a retired guide dog, who founder Craig Slagel had adopted in 2012 just after starting the company. “As a runner and frequent traveller, I often had the issue not knowing where to run, or getting lost when I tried to explore. My friends joked I should let Dynasty guide me instead, and that sparked the idea of RunGo,” says Slagel. Since launching the app, RunGo has worked with the BC and Alberta Guide Dogs and visually impaired runners for feedback on their navigation system and now RunGo has several visually impaired users.
